Proposed Legislation will impact private property and small businesses in Maine

Higher property taxes: Proposals aim to increase taxation on property use, increase the real estate transfer tax and allow municipalities the option to tax certain properties inequitably.

Maine families will suffer: Increased fees on private property for some add to the cost of housing for ALL.

Harmful to Maine’s economy: Without a healthy supply of housing inventory, both residential and commercial real estate will suffer which, in turn, will hinder Maine’s economy.
